Madeline grew up in central Iowa and is a graduate from Iowa State University with a degree in Kinesiology and Health. She is nationally recognized as a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council of Exercise. Madeline has worked in various fitness markets during her time as a trainer including one on one training, small group training, large group training, and sports and military performance.
Madeline has a passion for the functionality of the human body and strives to incorporate correct movement into all her programs that will benefit people in all stages of life to prevent injury and increase athleticism.
Her passion for health and wellness began when she was in high school when her cross country coach quit his job only weeks before the district meet. Due to an injury Madeline was not able to participate in the districts meet but she had the chance to coach one of her fellow teammates to state. That’s when she realized that her passion was deeper than simply performing and participating in athletic events. When she got to Iowa State University she craved to know more about how the human body responds to exercise physiologically. She believes that correct, consistent movement changes lives and God has richly provided her with opportunity to utilize her talents, desires and passions.
Madeline has also suffered from the world’s effect of pressures put on young women as she had an eating disorder between the ages of 13-16 years old. She desires to help other young women fight off lies and embrace their God-given beauty, no matter what size they are. Living a life of health is not dependent on a number on a scale or an unreasonable, photoshopped standard.
Additionally, Madeline has a heart for the veteran community. Her greatest desire in being a personal trainer is to reach out and provide to the men and women who have given so much to ensure our freedom. She strives to provide personal training services to those who have served or are currently serving and their families at the most affordable rate and to treat them with the respect, reservation, compassion, and kindness that they deserve.
Madeline is a small town girl with big dreams to help as many people as possible through her passion for health and wellness. She is eager to meet you and help you to pursue your dreams of living the most healthy life possible by honoring your body and loving who you are from the inside out.
Madeline’s experience in the gym setting began at the early age of three when her parents placed her in gymnastics to provide an outlet for the energy she spent jumping off the couch trying to do tricks in the air and on the ground. For the next decade that extra energy was transferred into sharp, driven focus on how to properly manipulate the human body to perform dramatic sequences. This created a foundation for Madeline’s passion for exercise and blossomed into a lifelong pursuit of understanding the human body in a way that can be beneficial to all people.
This passion and pursuit was not always evident as she spent the first three years of college significantly lacking confidence and having absolutely no idea what she would do post college ...feeling lost, as if she didn’t have the confidence or cause to dedicate towards a career...until one day during an ISU kinesiology course she received her first personal training “client”. Madeline’s work world began to make sense and the pieces began to fall together. For the first time in years a passion was sparked that she could help someone else physically perform their best in daily life and beyond.
Since that moment Madeline has found that personal training is so much deeper than educating a client on proper movement patterns, assisting in weight loss, and building healthier habits. She has found that this is the greatest way she can utilize her talents to touch people’s lives from the inside out. Her passion for exercise hails in comparison to the compassion she has for meeting her clients where they are emotionally, mentally, and spiritually and striving to lift them up to where they deserve to be.
Madeline’s faith is of utmost value to her and her greatest desire as a personal trainer is to help clients tap into the beautiful gift God has given them through their bodies; to honor, respect, delight in, and properly care for their body as a temporarily decaying vessel. She believes that the mind, emotions, spirit, and body are all intertwined and that humans have been beautifully designed in such a way for a Greater Purpose. American society tends to swing the pendulum too far in either direction either neglecting the physical body entirely or being overly concerned and obsessed with perfecting it. Madeline believes that it is time to find the middle ground in living a balanced life.
Madeline intends to apply her talents, passions, skills, education, tools, and resources to assist all people she works with to build a foundation for a balanced lifestyle that can endure the tests of life.
